Privacy Policy
 

The 1st European B+ Summit informs Conference participants of its Personal Data Privacy Policy so that they can decide, voluntarily, whether to provide personal information to register their registration and requests for information. The personal data collected will be used appropriately in accordance with the purpose for which they were collected and in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Law, approved by Law n.º 58/2019, of August 8 (hereinafter referred to as “ LPD”) and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter abbreviated referred to as “GDPR”).

 

 

 

DATA OF THE DATA CONTROLLER

 

Pursuant to Article 4 of GDPR, the Data Controller is the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body that, individually or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of data processing personal.

 

 

In this case, the Controller will be ABA – Associação de Energia Avançada, headquartered at Quinta do Vale do Espinhal EM 558-1, Vale do Espinhal, 3230-343 Penela, with NIF 515488607:

 

 

ABA is committed to treating participants' data in a clear, proper and responsible manner, ensuring that the selected processors guarantee full compliance with personal data protection rules.

 

 

 

PURPOSE

 

This Privacy Policy applies only to services for the collection, use and protection of personal data by ABA. It does not apply to third-party websites, mobile/tablet applications or services. We recommend that you carefully read the terms of this Privacy Policy, as well as our partner’s Terms and Conditions and Cookie Policy (in https://beamian.com/terms/).

 

 

INFORMATION COLLECTED

 

Registration information: the information collected and archived consists of personal and professional data filled in by the participants, potential sponsors and potential parties interested in buying spaces for stands, through forms established for this purpose, online, which are used for the organization and management of the registration process and free communications.

 

 

Bank details: ABA collaborates with service providers who support the organization of the event, who are responsible for monetary transactions. Accordingly, ABA does not collect or maintain banking information. This information is handled by ABA service providers, with participants being subject to the Privacy Policies and Terms and Conditions of the service providers when registering for the Conference. In this sense, please review the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions of the service providers before registering.

 

Information for correspondence: by registering and participating in the Conference, you join our mailing list, from which we share notifications or other correspondence during the period prior to and after the Conference, in the latter case, to notify you, namely, about news regarding the next editions of the Conference. If you do not wish to receive communications from us in the future, please contact us at info@europeanbplussummit.com

It should be noted that, requests for the removal of information from the archive lists, although quick, may imply some time for the withdrawal.

 

 

Publication in the media: all speakers and moderators are subject to image and audio capture during the Conference, both by ABA and by partners, sponsors and the media present at the event. Therefore, if you view any material with your image/audio and do not authorize its use, we ask that you notify us (via e-mail) of the request for the removal of the material. If the image is shared on communication channels of partners, sponsors and the media, we ask that you contact them, as ABA is not responsible for the content (graphic or textual) disseminated by partners, sponsors and/or the media.

 

SHARING OF INFORMATION 

 

ABA: the Organizing Committee may have access to the information provided, in accordance with the normal course of the registration process and management of free communications.

 

Service Providers: ABA collaborates with service providers such as the IT company responsible for the website and companies that provide support to the organization of the event. ABA takes reasonable steps to ensure that our service providers protect your information on behalf of ABA. If ABA becomes aware that a service provider is using and disclosing information improperly, commercially reasonable steps will be taken to terminate or correct the improper use of the information.

 

RIGHTS

 

Participants can exercise their rights of access, information, cancellation, rectification,  limitation of treatment, data portability, erasure (commonly known as “right to be forgotten”) opposition and automated decisions and must claim their rights by email to ABA (contacts mentioned above).

 

Participants also have the right to file a complaint with the Portuguese National Data Protection Commission (CNPD). It should be noted that, if you choose to delete your information or refuse to collect and use it, this may imply that the process of registration and submission of abstracts for free communications cannot be considered valid.

INFORMATION STORAGE PERIOD

 

ABA will preserve your data for the necessary period and depending on the purpose for which they are intended, taking into account the criteria of legality, necessity and minimization of storage time.

ABA may, however, retain the data for a longer period of time taking into account factors such as (i) legal obligations; (ii) limitation periods (under applicable laws); (iii) eventual disputes; and (iv) guidelines issued by the competent supervisory authorities.

INFORMATION SECURITY

 

ABA makes reasonable efforts to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, alteration and destruction. In this way,using appropriate technical and organizational measures to promote the security and integrity of personal data, ABA ensures that information is stored on secure computers in a closed information center and that the data is (whenever possible) encrypted. However, the participant must be aware that no data security protocol is inaccessible and, as such, ABA does not guarantee that the information cannot be accessed, collected, disclosed, violated and destroyed by unauthorized third parties, who act illegitimately. In these circumstances, ABA is not responsible for the damage caused.

 

 

AMENDMENT TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

 

ABA may, at any time, update this Privacy Policy, so we ask that you periodically review this document to stay up to date. Remaining as a participant means acceptance of the amended terms.
